Not only is this the first Newsletter of the year, but of the decade. That’s a bit frightening.
With an extra week before the start of the new courses we’ve all had more time to recover from the seasonal excesses and illnesses and so there has been a good turnout for the classes. Also we’ve had excellent feedback from the Playhouse Workshops, which were sold out, and there are more planned for the summer too. The money raised goes towards funding their youth outreach programmes.
I have the first session of the year with the Memory Café at Middle Street Resource Centre in Beeston this month. These sessions are very different from my usual classes requiring dancing while seated! It is an enjoyable session though challenging, for me too. You can find more information about the Memory Café here.
The tickets for the Valentine’s Ball at the City Council House Ballroom on February 15th are now available. This is a fantastic Ballroom with a superb floor and if you’ve never danced socially before don’t be put off, it is the reason for all your lessons after all. It’s most enjoyable, good practice, and will improve your dancing. There is plenty of floor space and you don’t need any fancy moves, so let me know if you want to come along.
